Outfit Inspiration: Saturday Night w/The Girlies

These are the shoes that inspired my outfit

    Happy Monday (yeah right lol). Well my weekend mostly consisted of sitting in front of my laptop watching netflix but believe it or not thats my joy. I can sit in front of that computer for hours surfing and watching netflix(addictive) haha. Thats not all i did, I went out with my besties! Yup i blew the dust off of my "club gear" for a night out on the town. I wore the pink button up thrifted shirt I got a couple weeks ago, the Steve Madden Cougar platforms, and old black H&M skirt i've had for a while, and i nude clutch (not shown).
  I'm so sorry I don't have better pics of my outfit but my sd card was missing from my camera and I had to use my blackberry which USUALLY takes good pics sawy gals *drops head*

  There was a new club opening up that we were so excited to see but upon arrival we were highly disappointed when we saw the type of people going inside. I told my girls that we were not going into THAT club, it had club fight written all over it. Instead we journeyed on up the street to a hot little lounge called "Silly Goose" I LOVE this little place because the crowd is mixed and the music is dance/pop which is my kind of music.... kind of makes me feel like I'm in another city. I swear I to need to get out more because i looked over at my friends singing along to this hot song i was hearing for the first time and felt left out  because I wanted to sing along too *arms folded* I just enjoyed being with my girls and having a few cocktails. One thing I will be doing is learning the words to this darn song haha.....starting....now.......

Natural Hair Crush Of The Week: "Shingai Shoniwa "

 Happy Friday Lovelies! So sorry this post is so late in the day but I had a meeting SUPER early this morning and I woke up late! Thank god I made it to work in the nick of time , I pride myself on my punctuality :-)


  Well today's natural hair crush of the week is the gorgeous, sultry, jaw dropping Shingai Shoniwa! I think she has to be my favorite so far, I'm so "in love" with her look...her hair...EVERYTHING!! Ughhh...I love her style so much that I hate it! She is also a great singer and is the star of the group "The Noisettes". I've been checking out some of the music and so far I'm really feeling this song and video...check it out  :-)

I'm Ready For The Changing Seasons

  Hey y'all!!  It's been slow motion for me over here as I've been transitioning between jobs and you know how that goes. Still I tried to find a little time to make a post for you gals. Thank you all for following my blog and commenting, sometimes I feel like no ones out there and it gets kind of discouraging at times :-(

  Anywho (i'm getting all mushy sorry lol). I have a black maxi dress I have yet to wear( i know i have a lot of maxis) and I have been trying to decide on what accessories to put with it. I put this little outfit together because I thought it would be "Season appropriate" for fall. I was getting a "Jungle Cat" kind of vibe as I was putting it together, what do you all think? Yay or Nay?

A Little Wednesday Inspiration....

Latina Magazine's Fall Trends 2011

 Howdy there readers! Hope everyone is doing swell. I was reading through my favorite magazine "Latina" (been subscribed for 10 years,love them) and I came across the fall trends pages. As I looked at the pages I realized that I have a lot of these trends in my closet already (except for the fur).

I snapped these pictures with my BB Torch,Sorry they're not the best quality :-S

   I don't have any fur but then again I've never come across any faux fur vest or jackets that I like. I would try them on and feel like a grizzly bear lol maybe this year I will come across a cute one to rock        :-)

  I'm not the one that usually follows trends but I have a lot of this stuff in my closet already so I thought "Why not be fashion forward and rock the trends this year" lol. I have tons of plaid,a beautiful red trench coat,mustard colored shirts, polka dots, and more. I guess that's because fashion constantly repeats itself which is why I try to make sure I buy timeless pieces that I can wear any year.

Renee just gave me an idea...Hmmm....

 I notice that a few of these trends have been rocked all summer, especially the polka dots. How about you? Will you be rocking these trends this fall?

Natural Hair Crush Of The Week: "TKeyah Crystal Keymáh"

  Happy Friday!! Remember TKeyah Crystal? from "In Living Color? Well look at her now *in my Chris Brown voice* lol. Her hair looks like a lush cloud of soft curls, I look at her hair and I just imagine what my hair will look like in a couple of years......I can't wait!! Tkeyah is now doing plays and still has such great personality on stage. Here are a couple more pics enjoy your day everyone :-)

My Friend's Baby Shower And The Gift I Made Her

    Hey everyone! This post is late but I totally forgot about it, I wanted to show y'all one of the gifts I made for my dear friend Tiffanie aka "Ti-Ti". This is her first baby girl and I am so happy for her! I totally love baby showers...I really do, I like buying the little clothes and I also like making baby gifts......

  Isn't it the cutest??!! I used to make these ALL the time and I don't know why I stopped. I would make them as gifts for friends at baby showers and they are always unique which I love because I know no one else is going to have my gift so there's no need for returning anything. I used to make these and sell them for like $20 for the set and they would always sell out FAST, think I will start that up again and include matching baby blankets and burp cloths (got to fix my sewing machine first lol). Anywho, just wanted to share that with you all...have a good one.

♨♨Hot New "Thrift Haul"♨♨

Hey hey! I've got another thrift haul y'all(hey that rhymes)! Iknow how you gals love these haul and I love making them :-)

Anywho... I went to a thrift store that I've never been to before and I went bananas once I got inside! I mean, everything was just so organized and colorized things were just easy to find and I love that because I was looking for something in particular.

Check out the video for the haul, I found some goodies and I can't wait to wear them *yay*

It's OK To Play With Clay

   Hola Chicas! I have decided that clay will be a staple in my hair and skin care regimen Yes...after trying them on my hair and skin the other day I am officially hooked. The other day when I went to Maggie's Farm I not only picked up some teas but I also picked up a couple different mask to try on my hair and face. After reading and researching Bentonite & French Green Clay I decided to test it out and I'm so glad I did! Here's some info on what the Bentonite Clay does for you hair:

• Acts like a magnet to draw all the toxins,dirt,&yuckiness from your scalp and hair.
• Leaves hair UBER soft and manageable.
• Temporarily stretches & defines your curl pattern
• Contains a high percentage of Iron & Silica
• Leaves hair clean yet not stripped

  This clay is great for ANY hair texture and I strongly recommend it. I'm so glad I tried this, I now plan on doing this treatment on my hair twice a month along with my Henna Treatments that I do monthly. I believe  doing both will yield great results! I also am amazed by how beautiful the French Green Clay left my skin.

  I remember seeing people getting face mask at spas but never thought anything of it until now. This mask is really something special, when I washed it off,my face instantly looked "cleaner" and brighter. I'm really trying to improve my skin care regimen and I want to create a solid natural one that I will stick to. So far this mask is all I have for now,  as I am still experimenting to see what works for my oily skin. Here are some benefits of the French Green Clay for skin:

• GREAT for oily skin
• Removes dead cells & promotes blood flow
• Removes impurities as it tightens skin
• Great for treating acne
• Treats bruises,scars,and insect bites

  Now from what I read, only oily skin benefits from the mask but you can still use it for acne spots and such so if you have oily skin like me ADD this to your regimen ASAP. Re-Constructed: Vintage Dress Turned Into A Maxi Skirt

   Hey y'all, I'm in a good mood today :-)
  I went thrift store shopping on last sunday and found this dress and fell in love with the print. I looked at it and thought "There must be SOMETHING" I can do with this dress. As is, it's hideous, I mean when I put it on it looked ssoo frumpy and shapeless but I saw potential and bought it for 2 buckaroos.

 As soon as I got home I laid it on the bed and thought " I can make this into a maxi skirt with no sewing needed!" I SIMPLY cut right above the elastic band and voila it's a maxi skirt!  :-)

I was sucking in as much as I could lmao

  I decided to wear it to my girlfriend's baby shower, overall my out fit only cost me like 2 bux because the rest of the stuff i've had for YEARS. I think it turned out ok..what do you gals think? Did I make good use out of that frumpy dress or what?? lol

Natural Hair Crush Of The Week: "Andreya Triana "

 Happy Friday! I've got somethings lined up,nothing special but we shall see. This weeks hair crush is miss Andreya Triana. I stumbled across her video while surfing through you tube and was in awe,her music is so lax and mellow but her hair is what really caught my eye. I simply adore the curls and the hair color is on point as well! Take a look at a few more pics and check out one of her videos as well.....

Thrifted Treasues

  Hey honey buns, I hope you all are doing well out there. Sunday i did a little thrift store shopping and found a few things. My highlight of the shopping trip was the colorful dress that i plan on reworking(stay tuned). I swear when I am thrifting I feel like i am on an adventure, I look at things and see so much potential.

  This bright pink button down is actually waaay brighter in person, i've got some ideas for this baby :-D

  This black sheer dress looks awesome on, I love it!

   The belts are fantastic and stretchy..BIG plus!

.....and this dress was my highlight of the day, I've got big plans for this dress...big plans I tell ya just wait and see! If you aren't a thrifter you are missing out on a bunch of goodies! The one thing I can know for sure is when I'm out and about no ones is going to look like me and that's the best feeling. Have a good one lovelies...Peace ;-)
